Executive Summary
This report provides an in-depth analysis of African youth climate change perceptions and attitudes survey conducted by Greenlead. Greenlead is a registered NGO dedicated to promoting inclusive action by building the capacity of young Africans to address the challenges posed by climate change and ensure environmental sustainability. This is done through education and training, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, consultancy, and research services to contribute
to sustainable and equitable development in Africa. We envision a future where young Africans are at the forefront of the global climate change and sustainable communities’ movement through innovation, policy advocacy and development rooted in justice principles and towards resilience building.
Our mission is to equip the youth across the continent with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to drive impactful climate initiatives, and foster inclusive, sustainable communities.
Our flagship project, the African Climate Leaders Fellowship, is an essential vehicle to attaining our vision of building the capacity of 10 million young people directly and indirectly while impacting the lives of 1 billion community members across the continent by 2034. The first cohort received 632 applicants from 32 African countries.
